admin February 10, 2012 0

Give Us Some Background Info As To Who You Are.

I am a 23-year-old rapper/producer hailing from the East New York section of Brooklyn. I go by the name of “Caspa Narkz.” Hip Hop is my passion. Hip Hop is my life.

What Is The Significance Of Your Name?

The name “Caspa Narkz” was given to me by my cousin. He said I was “Caspa” because I was always like the comic book and cartoon character, “Casper the Friendly Ghost.” In his opinion, I was ghostlike, because I was always on the grind, doing something, and I was never around. And “Narkz” is based on the word “narcoleptic.” Every time he came to my house, wanting to hang out, I would be asleep, so, he said I was narcoleptic. One day, I thought to myself, “If I put ‘Caspa’ and ‘Narkz’ together, I can run with ‘Caspa Narkz.’” And that’s where the name started!

Who is your target market?

I actually plan to target a few different markets, but, first, though, the urban market, because I believe I relate to them the most. However, I plan to expand my reach to the mainstream audience.

What is your USP? (Unique Selling Proposition) and what sets you apart from other aspiring artists?

First things first, I am a human being! I am not an alien, ghost (despite the name), goblin or any of those corny things! What separates me from the pack is the fact that I am not afraid to try different things. Musically, I am willing to take a lot of risks when it comes to performing my music. From what I see, a lot of new artists are not that confident in themselves.

What single or project are you currently pushing?

I’m currently working on my untitled mix tape, dropping early 2012, under the independent label that I am signed to, Black House Records. “Muscle” will be the first single off of it.

What Is The Philosophy By Which You Live By?

I live by a lot of them, but my Number One would have to be, “The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.” And that was first stated by the award-winning British science fiction writer, Arthur C. Clarke! The reason why I love Clarke’s philosophy is because it solely explains what I plan to do with my life for the time that I have left on Earth.

Which Artists Have Inspired You?

Honestly, I am inspired by every artist. I know that sounds like BS, but here is my reason. Every artist has something to offer whether they help spark an idea, or they show you exactly what not to do!

Who Does Your Production?

For the most part, I do my own production. For example, my first single, “Muscle,” off my up-and-coming mixtape, was produced by me. Outside of that, I work with Epik Da Dawn, Sean Original Music, Trackslammers, SuperNova Music, Joel Dean, and a lot of other SoundClick producers.

What Is Your Opinion Of The Current State of the music industry?

I love it! Artists are free to do whatever they want, which is not how this game was structured to be. The freedom of some artists is good to see. It’s hard to have control of your work when you sign on that dotted line. This is why I’m blessed to be in the position I’m in.

If You Can Change One Thing About The Music Industry What Would It Be And Why?

Bitchass niggas need to rid themselves of the Earth, and not just the music business! Ah man, I met so many funny-acting characters in such a short time! I remember growing up, and hearing other rappers talk about this kind of people. At the time, I didn’t really understand what they meant! But, now I know, and I hate them too!

Are There Any Singers That You Would Like To Collaborate With In The Future?

To start I would like to do a song with Rihanna, Jill Scott, Trey Songz, Frank Ocean, and Charlie Wilson. But, man, the list really goes on and on!

What Producer Would You Like To Collaborate With In The Future?

I look forward to one day working with Ryan Leslie, Timbaland, The Runners, Hit-Boy, Polow da Don, Dr. Dre, Kanye West, and StarGate.

What Is Your Favorite Movie And Favorite Book?

My favorite movie is “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” My favorite book is any history book. I love history with a passion.

What Are Some Major Misconceptions That You Think People Have Of You?

I get this all the time — women say that they think I am a mean person! But, I don’t understand that, because I am smiling most of the time!

What Is Your Favorite Part Of Your Live Show? How Has It Evolved?

My favorite part of my live show is when I stop the music and speak to the audience. That’s the most important part, because it allows the audience to hear me out of my element. For the most part, fans only know artists for the things they say in their music, so, automatically, they create a depiction of who they think you are. In most cases they judge you wrongly. So, by speaking to the crowd, it brings them in closer to the person behind the artist. I hope that makes sense!

What Is Your Lp Going To Be Like?

Full of energy! I have this one song where I spoke about a kid diagnosed with cancer, and his mother had to watch him die. Then, I have songs that will make you want to party all night! It is a well-rounded piece of work! I know people will love it!

What is your website?

My professional website is, and my label’s website is We also have a blog at If anyone wants to hit me up over Facebook or Twitter, or “like” my artist page, they can Google “Caspa Narkz” to get the links.

Any Final Words For The People.

Yes, Black House Records is the label and Caspa Narkz is the name. Motivation is the key to success. Lose that, and you’re lost forever. Money doesn’t feel any pity, so, there’s no point in crying for it! Get out there and get yours!
