You are one of the hottest artists to come out of South America. How did you get started?

Everything started in Brazil when I was 17 and I met a Dj who was looking for a singer to put on his record, but he didn’t have any lyrics just the song. So we wrote it and we released my first single “Feelin’ The Love”. The Djs started playing the song on nightclubs, sharing it all over the country and internationally and it was very well accepted by the people no matter where they were playing at. After that I had to move by myself at 18 to Sao Paulo, which is big city, it’s like the New York of Brazil and that was when things started to happen and I did my first tour
performing shows all over the country.

Who are some of your influences?

There are a lot of people that inspires me as an artist, but the main ones are definitely Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Prince and Vanity 6.

Your music video “Magic” has been one of the most shared videos on Mtv.com and one of the top most popular videos on VH1 beating out Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Fifth Harmony and Sam Smith. How did you accomplish this as an independent artist?

I think I’m the first artist from Brazil to be played on MTV in America. They premiered Magic video on MTV Hits Fresh Faces and my fans were very excited. I just finished a promotion for MTV Hits that should be starting soon. I am very blessed to be surrounded by a great team, my label Concore Entertainment and Charve The Don that made it all happen, and also the fans that support me sharing the video everywhere, it’s amazing to have people that believe in your dreams so much and the most important thing I have to thank God for all the opportunities and blessings He puts in my life.

How does it feel to be the only artist from Brazil to have this kind of success in America?

It’s a blessing! I’ve seen so many artists from Brazil trying so hard to make it in America and when I got this opportunity I gave the best of me to make it happen and I will keep giving my best on everything I do to make not only Brazil but all the Latinos I love proud of me. To make a dream come true is not easy because the most challenging thing it’s not to give up even when the people and the circumstances try hard to make you fail. If you don’t stand up for yourself, nobody will.
